People
My work with people includes two bodies of work. “Dressed for Zero” is a series of portraits of people wearing winter garb in Minneapolis. Not only are bodies obscured but there is the creation of a new persona. When it is really cold, the face and hair are all that remain visible of the body.
The subject of my other work is my grandchildren. Until recently, both lived nearby so I have been able to watch and document them growing up. In my work I look for those moments when they are most completely lost in their own worlds before self-consciousness and conformity erode their experiences. Also, I am interested in capturing the physicality of their lives, lives lived in space through movement.
